I spend much time foraging for treasures amongst tumbles of seaweed along the Scottish shoreline. Seaweeds are immensely variable, complex structures, found in arrays of colours and textures. My seaweed works echo the ocean habitats of the species I preserve, through the relationship between woven fibres and these sea jewels.
I spend time foraging for treasures amongst tumbles of seaweed along the Scottish shoreline. Seaweed comes in an immensely variable array of complex structures, colours and textures. I research the ocean habitats of the species I have preserved, the seaweed works echo something of the multi-faceted underwater worlds in which these jewels exist before being washed onto the beaches.
